Frequently Asked Questions
There’s no such thing as a stupid question, but there certainly are some common ones when people consider therapy. Here’s a few of them.
-
We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and how we might work together. There’s absolutely no pressure to commit to sessions and you’re welcome to come back to me further down the line if the timing is not quite right.
-
This varies and is tricky to answer because we are all different. Some people come for a few weeks to months; others stay longer on a ‘rolling basis’. I normally advise to begin on a 6 week basis and then review. We discuss this in our initial sessions and decide together, and again this can always be revisited.
-
You’re welcome to email me with questions or book an initial session to talk through how I might help. There’s a lot of information online and it can be a bit overwhelming, so a conversation can really help feel clearer about what talk therapy offers and whether my approach is the right one for you.
-
Yes I do. I offer secure, UK‑based online sessions. I find these support clients managing busy schedules or other constraints that in-person sessions sometimes pose a barrier for.
-
Walk and Talk therapy uses open spaces for sessions. These offer an alternative to the traditional therapy room which can feel less formal and direct for some clients. Individual online sessions are used first to establish trust, logistics and confidentiality details. Walk and Talk sessions can use natural or urban spaces which are open enough to support the conversation, but not isolated. Find out more here.
